about Rae Lieff Axelbank
I am a facilitative mediator, trained at the New York Peace Institute (2017) and the West Hawai’i Mediation Center (WHMC) (2018). At WHMC I serve on an ongoing basis as a mediator (all specialities) and coach and am also a volunteer facilitator and trainer for the Alternatives to Violence Program-New York.
I am a gifted listener, a powerful interlocutor, and a producer of rapid situational synthesis and reframing. In working with clients I focus on identifying expectations, events, interests, and emotions and determining the role each plays in a best possible outcome.
Prior to becoming a professional mediator, I worked in journalism, public health, and hospitality. In addition to my conflict resolution certifications and continuing education, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Princeton University (2006) and a master’s degree in Narrative from Sarah Lawrence College (2011).
I look forward to talking with you and learning how I can help.
